A technique is a way of efficiently accomplishing a task in a manner that is not immediately obvious or straightforward.
Technique may also refer to:
- Technology, the study of or a collection of techniques
- Anything that can be done employing tools or algorithms
- In art technique includes tools, processes, structures, forms, and details, as well as the manner in which those are used and put together, one example being collage
- In music, technique refers to the manner of playing an instrument (Category:Musical performance techniques), as well as the tools and manner of composition and precomposition, see also: extended technique
- In fine art, a technique refers to the style and tools used to create a particular effect with, for example, oil paints, where the technique used by the artist can be the result of his training, fashions or personal styles or any combination of these.
