In Greek mythology, there were three different people named Aegle. One belonged to the Hesperides, another to the Heliades, and the third was a Naiad occasionally considered the mother of the Charites by Helios.

Aegle is also a genus of southern Asian fruit trees, commonly known as the Bael tree.
